On Sunday, Oct. 26, six student a cappella groups performed to a sold-out crowd of 300 people, raising more than $3,600. The event was organized by BadgerThon, a philanthropic student group that raises money for American Family Children's Hospital.

In Memoriam: Michael C. Umhoefer

Michael Umhoefer, a graduate student in industrial engineering, died on Friday, Oct. 24 as the result of a car crash. He was 23. Umhoefer, who also received his bachelor's degree in industrial and systems engineering from UW-Madison, was set to graduate in December.
