‘Happy Endings’ producer Bycel to headline Homecoming

The Homecoming Committee is welcoming distinguished 1993 alum Josh Bycel, executive producer and writer on ABC's “Happy Endings” and "Scrubs," this Thursday, Oct. 25. You'll hear about his work in TV and also how he started his own nonprofit, building a school in Kenya. Related: Can Homecoming also be sustainable?

Charity Stripe Challenge

Join Bo Ryan and the Wisconsin men’s basketball team from 3-7 p.m. this Thursday to raise money for Coaches vs. Cancer. Ryan will donate $1 for every UW student that walks into the Kohl Center, $10 for every free throw made and $1,000 for every half-court shot made. Event is open to all UW students. Come for a chance to win free Wisconsin men’s basketball season tickets!

Monday’s Daily Cardinal published a letter from a graduate of UW–Madison outlining her experiences following a sexual assault while she was enrolled as a student. Dean of Students Lori Berquam, UWPD Chief Sue Riseling and UHS Director Dr. Sarah Van Orman explain how they're jointly working to end sexual violence on campus.

Theatre and drama student competes on Food Network

UW students are renowned for their enthusiasm for Halloween. Leigh Henderson, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Theatre and Drama, recently competed on the Food Network’s “Halloween Wars,” between teams of cake decorators, pumpkin carvers and candy makers. She advanced to the next-to-final round.

Got your shot? Free walk-in flu shots through Nov. 16

It’s mid-semester and you’re busy. You’ve got papers to write, readings to get done, and exams to study for. Do you really have time to get sick? It's not too late for a flu shot. Free walk-in clinics are running at UHS every weekday and several special clinics are planned.
