Quiz corner thinks 1956 was a pretty great year for alumni

Did you recognize this bud of Bud? (Selig, that is.) Try your luck at this week’s quiz question and win free swag.

Last week’s question:

Bud Selig has a good friend whose name is central to a certain part of campus. This fellow 1956 alum also happens to be Selig’s college roommate, fraternity brother and childhood neighbor. Who is this well-known Wisconsinite? 

The answer is Herb Kohl, former U.S. Senator and Kohl Center donor.

In 2014, both Herb Kohl and Bud Selig received the WAA’s Distinguished Alumni Award. Not bad for a couple of guys from around the corner. Both have contributed immensely to sports in Wisconsin — and a whole lot more.

Just look at these two guys, so fresh-faced and ready to take on the world! Knowing Herb’s frugal ways, he probably still has that tie.
