It's the greatest place on campus you've never been. Tucked between Chamberlin Hall and Lathrop Hall is the UW Botanical Garden, a small and beautiful green space for relaxing, studying or just finding a quiet moment.

Opportunity: Big Learning Event Scholarship

The Office of Sustainability is offering five undergraduate students and graduate students a scholarship to gain them admission to the 2013 UW Big Learning Event on June 5 and 6 at the Gordon Dining and Event Center.

Sprangers competes in ‘Jeopardy!’ College Championship

When the "Jeopardy!" College Championship was filmed at UW in April 2008, Julia Sprangers sat in the Kohl Center audience to watch then-senior Suchita Shah compete. On Monday, she had the chance to appear on the show herself, traveling back from her study abroad program in Spain. She didn't win, but still has a chance to win a wild card slot to advance.

On the catwalk: Threads Fashion Show set for May 11

Human Ecology textile and apparel design students will showcase their finished semester designs in a juried runway fashion show, “Threads—Emerging Designers 2013,” on Saturday, May 11 in the newly renovated and expanded School of Human Ecology building, Nancy Nicholas Hall.

Achievements

2013 Phi Beta Kappa initiates chosen

UW recently announced the 2013 initiates for the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. Initiates must have an outstanding academic achievement record and a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.75 for seniors, or 3.9 for juniors.
