Late rapper, UW student to receive honorary street name in Chicago

John "Vietnam" Nguyen, a First Wave hip hop artist and activist who drowned in Lake Mendota two years ago, will have his name emblazoned on a street sign in his hometown of Chicago. It's a historic honor for multiple reasons.

When you're pumping iron -- perhaps at the new Performance Training Center? -- it's important to track reps as well as form, for safety and efficiency. A student entrepreneur has turned his eye from the grocery store to the gym to make this process really work.

A mosquito feeds on the hand of Susan Paskewitz, a University of Wisconsin-Madison entomology professor. Paskewitz and Patrick Irwin, a graduate student and research assistant in entomology, were collecting live mosquitoes and checking mosquito traps while conducting field research at a private residence along the edge of the UW Arboretum. Paskewitz is an expert on mosquito species and mosquito-related public-health issues.
