The next dimension: 3D color printer wins innovation competition

Spectrom, an attachment for 3D printers that will allow users to incorporate seamless, on-demand color into the 3D printing process, won both the $10,000 Schoofs Prize for Creativity and the $2,500 Tong Prototype Prize at the 2014 Innovation Days competition.

MBA Students Among 300 Teams Worldwide to Advance in Hult Prize Regionals

A group of UW-Madison students will compete next month in San Francisco for the shot at $1 million in seed money from the Hult Prize. The contest searches for the most promising business idea that solves a global problem, and the team is one of 300 chosen from a pool of 10,000 applicants worldwide.

Spirited arguments: Mock trial teams win in every way

First place says a lot — but first place and a sportsmanship award says it all, according to mock trial team captain Marissa Hatlen. In October, Hatlen’s seven-member team won first place at the American Mock Trial Association tournament at Bradley University, and captured the AMTA spirit award as well. Weeks later, the group turned around and won both awards again at the University of Washington.
