Science meets art: 10 images to make you say ‘wow’

Drawn from a record number of entries, 10 pictures at the intersection of art and science have been chosen as winners of the 2013 UW-Madison Cool Science Image Contest. Here, nanoflowers made of zinc oxide (ZnO), an important semiconductor in the electronics industry, are captured by chemistry grad student Audrey Forticaux via scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

Construction damage closes part of Park Street

North Park Street is temporarily closed between Langdon Street and Observatory Drive due to construction activity that damaged an underground pipe. The work is causing detours for Routes 80, 81 and 82.

85th Annual Student Art Show Winners

The winners of the 85th Annual Student Art Show at the Wisconsin Union Galleries in Memorial Union were recently announced. The winning work is being exhibited through April 9 in Porter Butts & Class of 1925 Galleries.
